Today's strip (No. 1360) is dated 30 Dec 2002.
Grans and Nans love to knit. Probably. It's one of many cartoon cliches I've used throughout the strip's existence. I could probably Google 'do grans and nans like to knit?' but I'm not sure if I want to know the truth. I can't handle the truth!

Strange Looking Bloke Wednesday

I think todays pencil sketched Bloke easily qualifies in the 'strange looking' category.
His mood appears to be: Anyone seen my false eye?

Strange Looking Bloke Wednesday

It's another guest Strange Looking Bloke Wednesday! Hurrah!

My cartooning pal Gerard Whyman sent me these blokes - lovingly produced, he assured me, during a seaside trip to Barry. Further questioning revealed the shocking web of lies - it was raining so instead he stayed home and produced them via "a nifty download for my Bamboo graphics tablet - it's good fun drawing with a 'stick' in the sand with the sound affects of sea waves and gulls in the background" Sounds like great fun, and beats a rainy day at the beach.

Cheers Ger, they certainly fit the SLB criteria!

Today's strip (No. 3074) is from 1st July 2008. It's not based on reality - I've never been kicked in the rear by a man in gold makeup standing atop a small crate, although I've often wondered what you'd get for such a cursory sum as 5 pence - probably one raised eyebrow.

My mind could be playing tricks, but I'm fairly sure there was a 'human statue' I saw in Cardiff once who's act consisted of doing a handstand with his head in a bucket. Did I dream it?

Strange Looking Bloke Wednesday

Playing cards with a few friends in a local pub, we noticed a fellow patron sitting opposite with the classic 'builder's bum' look. I managed a quick scribble between jotting down our scores. Those aren't slippers he's wearing, but some ugly looking checkered slip-on trainers, second only to Crocs in the hideous footwear stakes. Apologies to you if you're the man in the pic - I've managed to insult you, your bottom and your footwear.

His mood: see anything you like?

Today features the very first Never Say Dai strip, dated Monday, 17th August 1998! Almost eleven years appears to have flown by. I guess the characters haven't changed that much over the years, just a few little tweaks here and there.

For anyone unfamiliar with Max Boyce, he was (and still is) a Welsh comedian who hit the big time in the 70s when I were but a lad. Used to love listening to his albums and especially loved the cover of 'We all had doctors papers' which featured the cartoons of one of my heroes Gren Jones

His mood: I'm only guessing, but I think he's quietly humming 'It ain't easy being green'

Note to all supermarkets - I'd be happy to pay extra for a trolley with side mounted water cannons. Squeeze the trigger and blast those slow moving shoppers out of the way!

Strange Looking Bloke Wednesday

Here's today's bloke. I've no idea what it's about. I drew the smaller man, then the larger man and decided to join them together in some bizarre puppetry scene. Done with brush pens and a splattering of wash. Think he looks a bit like Tom Baker. Those eyes are suitably mad 'n stary.

his mood: GOTTLE... OF... GEER!
