Strange Looking Blokes Wednesday

Click  image to enlarge
I drew this when Adam & Joe returned to 6Music earlier in the year. I can't say the likeness is all there, but I do reckon it's captured their on-air personalities... Joe as the tall, sophisticated half and Adam as the hairy little ball of fury. (No offence, Dr Buckles.) They're off air at the moment, but I hope they return to 6Music soon.

since we're feeling a little nostalgic...  STEPHEN!

Strip 1329 dated 21 Nov 2002.
Going through some old strips I'd forgotten about this one, which I quite like. As you may have gathered from previous posts, I'm not much of a sports fan so this strip was my attempt at covering all the bases. I figure whichever way the game went, it always ended with beer.

Reading this again, I should have had a multiple choice for the sports too - Rugby, footie, cricket, tiddlywinks...

Oh, and the days of working four weeks in advance are long gone - now I'm just over a week ahead when writing the strip.

At the Mountains of Madness

Here's my version of the HP Lovecraft classic. Working at this size I had to really pare down the text, so I may have missed some of the finer points of the story. Or indeed any points of the story.

Ahem...

Actually, if you want to read one of the best graphic novels of last year, I recommend getting INJ Culbard's version of At the Mountains of Madness. He's adapted and illustrated it brilliantly, and it's one of the many fine titles available from SelfMadeHero

Go on, order it now!

Monday's Random Calendar Cartoon - Rugby

Here's another cartoon from the 2011 rugby calendar. There's a new Planet of the Apes film in the cinema this week - so perhaps this scene will actually happen sooner than we'd like.

"Take your stinkin' paws off me, you damned dirty ape!"

Strip 3823 dated 26 Nov 2010. I think I've finally got used to these machines, though of course it's just a slippery slope 'til we're taken over by Cyberdyne Systems. Didn't anyone watch Terminator?

I'm probably alone in this, but the term Steampunk always makes me think of this scenario.
Just me then? ok...

Cartooning Advice with Bob Scrimshaw

Bob Scrimshaw: Cartoon Guru is a strip I draw every month for the Cartoonists' Club 'Jester' mag, and it features a character who offers dubious advice on the finer points of cartooning.

For this particular strip, I really was short of time and tried thinking of an idea that I could produce fairly quickly, so the use of copy & paste was too good to pass up!

I like to think it's pretty funny too :)

Sheep Cartoon

This week's calendar cartoon is from The Wacky World of Sheep. It could be said that these sheep are behaving in a wacky manner, though the argument could be made that they're merely acting goofy. I'll leave it for you to decide.
